Sustainability
Manufacturing with Responsibility
At SBP Composites, we believe that high-performance materials and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. Sustainability is embedded in our manufacturing philosophy — from the raw materials we source to the processes we use and the end-of-life recyclability of our products.
Recyclable Materials
Our PMMA (acrylic) panels are 100% recyclable. Post-industrial and post-consumer acrylic waste can be depolymerized back into monomer and recast into new panels with no loss of optical or mechanical properties. Our PVC panels are also recyclable through established PVC recycling streams, and our polycarbonate products can be reclaimed and reprocessed.
Energy-Efficient Production
Our extrusion lines are designed for energy efficiency, with heat recovery systems, optimized motor drives, and process controls that minimize energy consumption per square meter of panel produced. We continuously monitor and improve our energy performance as part of our ISO 9001 management system.
Waste Reduction
We operate a zero-waste-to-landfill policy for production scrap. Off-cuts, trimmings, and rejected panels are collected, sorted by material type, and fed back into the production process or sent to specialist recycling partners. Our goal is to close the material loop entirely.
Compliance & Standards
All our products comply with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) regulations, ensuring they are free from harmful substances and safe for use in all environments, including food-contact and healthcare applications.
Our Commitment
We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint year over year. This means investing in cleaner production technology, expanding our use of recycled and bio-based raw materials, and working with our supply chain partners to improve sustainability at every stage — from resin production to panel installation.
